Met Chris from SuperGoober yesterday showing off their current show reel, was a really amazing array of work from very different directors. Made me curious about production companies and interested in film again - one day I’ll come to a proper career choice! Everyone should definitely check them out http://www.supergoober.co.uk/goober-directors especially Nuit Blanche! SuperGoober are currently holding a skateboard design competition so without much of an idea I just ran with it - opinions? It didn’t really take me too long, probably an hour and a half if you forget After Effects rendering times to create the swirly thing. Not sure where the idea even came from to be honest.

Just realised that I never put this bad boy up!


This is the final outcome for my Spotify brief for D&AD, they didn’t like it but I still love him.

May edit to make a more flouncy corporate video for the degree show though.

In need of a serious crit.

This is the video so far that tries to explain what my idea is for the Spotify Digital Advertising brief for D&AD. I’ve spent three days on this video from the basic visuals, to the text animations and little tweaks in the timeline. The one thing that’s very obvious to me is that the facebook sweep across needs to be slowed down which is something I’ll rectify tomorrow.


It feels almost final to me and after giving myself a three hours reprieve from when I last saw it (after 10 hours of staring at After Effects) it doesn’t look as awful as I was worried about.

Please comment, please criticise.

I think I’m finally there, the orientation of the emitter that causes the background streams appears to be a good way to keep the nebula going (it is actually linked up to the audio using Sound Keys but the time it takes for Particular to react to the Emitter the moment in the audio it’s reacting to is long gone) at the moment the values of the Sound Keys output is too broad so I’m going to reduce them to make it a bit more compact.

Considering that the main video that this is going to be in the background for is going to be the same dimensions as this video, the Nebula is going to have to be roughly a quarter of the size it is now. Hopefully this will hide the Trapcode Form/Particular cross over and make it less clunky.

Tomorrow is going to be filled with plexus which will be fun, I may just meet the D&AD deadline after all.
